This includes helping clients protect their assets by recommending insurance products and other risk-management strategies.
Identify and assess the risks that a client may face, such as market risks, inflation, and longevity risks
Recommend strategies for managing and mitigating risks, such as diversification, asset allocation, and risk-reducing investments
Assist with the creation of an emergency fund to cover unexpected expenses and provide financial stability
Review and update the client’s risk management plan as needed to reflect changes in their financial circumstances or goals.
Investment Management
This includes developing and implementing a customized investment plan, including asset allocation and diversification strategies.
Develop a financial plan that includes a portfolio of investments based on the client’s financial goals, risk tolerance, and other financial circumstances
Identify suitable investment opportunities, such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs)
Monitor the performance of the investment portfolio and make changes as needed to ensure that it aligns with the client’s financial plan
Provide ongoing support and advice to clients on their investments and financial plan
Retirement Planning
This includes helping clients plan for their retirement by setting savings goals, analyzing their current financial situation, and recommending investment strategies.
Help clients determine their retirement goals, including how much income they will need in retirement and when they would like to retire
Provide guidance on the tax implications of different retirement savings strategies
Help clients plan for healthcare expenses in retirement
Help clients choose investments for their retirement accounts that are appropriate for their risk tolerance and financial goals
Debt Management
This includes helping clients manage their debt by developing a plan to pay it off, negotiating with creditors, and recommending strategies to reduce debt.
Assist clients in understanding their current debt situation and the terms of their debts, including the interest rates, fees, and minimum monthly payments
Help clients create a budget and a plan for paying off debts, including prioritizing high-interest debts
Assist with the negotiation of lower interest rates or fees with creditors
Recommend financial products or services, such as credit counseling or debt management plans, that may be helpful for managing debt
Business Planning
This includes helping small business owners develop and implement a financial plan for their business, including strategies for growth and succession planning.
Assist with the selection and management of business insurance policies, such as liability insurance and key person insurance

Assist clients in understanding their options for transferring their assets to their heirs or to charitable organizations upon their death
Assist with the selection of an executor or trustee for the client’s estate
Recommend insurance products, such as life insurance, that may be useful for estate planning purposes
Tax Planning
This includes helping clients minimize their tax liabilities by recommending tax-efficient investment strategies and identifying tax credits and deductions.
Assist clients in understanding how their income, investments, and other financial decisions affect their tax liability
Recommend strategies for minimizing taxes on investment income, such as tax-loss harvesting and asset allocation
Assist with the creation of a plan to pay off taxes owed or to set aside funds to pay estimated taxes
Review and update the client’s tax plan as needed to reflect changes in their financial circumstances or tax laws.
